1. Introduction

Syntexa LLC ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Syntexa mobile application ("App") and website.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication method (email OTP, Google, or Apple sign-in). You may optionally provide profile information including your name, age, occupation, location (zip code), interests, personality traits, and communication goals.

Conversation & Message Data

When you use our AI features (Quick Response, Relationships, Syntexa Chat, Fuzzy Thoughts), we process the text messages, context, and relationship information you provide to generate suggestions. This data is stored to provide personalized, context-aware assistance within your relationships.

Screenshots & Images

When you upload screenshots of conversations, we process the image to extract text and context for generating suggestions. Uploaded images are compressed and transmitted securely but are not permanently stored after processing.

Voice Recordings

When you use Fuzzy Thoughts, we record audio (up to 60 seconds), transcribe it, and use the transcription to generate message suggestions. Audio recordings are processed in real time and are not permanently stored after transcription.

Usage & Device Data

We collect information about how you interact with the App, including features used, interaction counts, and credit usage. We may also collect device identifiers, operating system version, and app version for analytics and troubleshooting.

Subscription & Payment Data

Payments are processed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment card information. We receive subscription status and transaction identifiers from RevenueCat to manage your account tier.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide AI-powered communication assistance and message suggestions
  • Personalize your experience based on your profile, relationships, and conversation history
  • Manage your account, subscription status, and credit balance
  • Send transactional emails (OTP codes, account notifications)
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Analyze aggregated usage patterns to improve our services

We do not use your personal conversation data to train AI models. Your messages are processed by our AI provider (Google Gemini) solely to generate real-time suggestions and are not retained by the AI provider for model training.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use Convex for our backend infrastructure, which provides automatic encryption and access controls. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • Google Gemini: Processes message content to generate AI suggestions. Data is sent via API and is not used for model training under our terms.
  • RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and purchase verification. Receives your user ID and subscription transaction data.
  • Convex: Backend infrastructure and database. Stores your account data, relationships, and interaction history.
  • Resend: Sends transactional emails (OTP codes, support confirmations). Receives your email address.

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy and provides protection of user data consistent with this policy and applicable guidelines.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Voice recordings are processed in real time and not permanently stored. Uploaded screenshots are not permanently stored after processing. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (available in-app under Settings → Account → Delete Account)
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. 11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and on our website, and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
